A Journey of Healing and Hope

Our Recent Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic

"As we give, we find that sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven." - Orson F. Whitney

Mission trips hold a special place in the hearts of those who embark upon them. The opportunity to serve, heal, and share love with communities in need leaves an indelible mark, reminding us of the beauty of selfless giving. Our recent mission trip to the Dominican Republic with the Christian Chiropractic Association was a humbling experience that reaffirmed our purpose as healthcare professionals and believers in Christ.

Answering the Call: A Team United

Under the guidance of our team leader, Dr. Mark Ford, Dr. Coty and Carolyn, along with two other dedicated doctors set out on a journey to the Dominican Republic. Our mission? To offer both medical care and spiritual support to the local Dominicans and Haitians. With hearts full of compassion and a desire to make a difference, the team set forth with purpose.

Healing in the Midst of Challenges

Despite our enthusiasm and dedication, the mission was not without its challenges. The team had planned to treat a considerable number of patients, but the unexpected arrival of tropical storm Franklin altered our course. A day of treatment had to be canceled due to the heavy rainfall, which affected our expected patient count. Nevertheless, the team displayed resilience, understanding that some things are beyond human control.

Aiding the Innocent: Spreading Joy and Support

One of the most heartwarming aspects of our journey was the unity demonstrated by our practice members at Adjusted Life Chiropractic. Your generosity, to the tune of almost $600, was instrumental in bringing joy to the communities. With your support, we were able to purchase toys for the children and provide aid to the local Pregnancy Resource Clinic (PRC). This clinic holds a mission dear to our hearts - supporting young girls who have faced unimaginable hardships, offering them access to healthcare and unwavering support for their children.

Embracing the Gift of Giving

Our time in the Dominican Republic was truly remarkable. The ability to extend healing to those who might otherwise not have access to proper healthcare was a privilege that filled our hearts with gratitude. From informing parents that their child had a severe umbilical hernia, to being able to give a mom hope when she was told that her two year old would never walk, we left with our hearts full. We're grateful not just for the opportunity to serve, but also for the understanding and encouragement from our practice members. Your willingness to stand by us, even as Adjusted Life Chiropractic remained closed for an entire week, is a testament to the compassion within our community.

As we reflect on this mission trip, we're reminded that the purpose of our work goes far beyond spinal adjustments and physical healing. It encompasses the spiritual, emotional, and communal aspects of our shared humanity. The journey to the Dominican Republic was a poignant reminder that sometimes, even a small act of kindness can have an immeasurable impact. Hugs and prayers were shared freely on our trip along with laughter that warmed the heart.

In closing, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this mission trip possible. It's our hope that through our actions, we were able to bring a ray of hope to those in need and exemplify the love and compassion that lies at the core of our faith.
